Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Teacher, you’ll create and manage a classroom that promotes preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development—all while mentoring assistant teachers and working closely with families.
Curriculum & Instruction

  • Develop and implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction

  • Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions

  • Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development

  • Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly

Classroom Leadership

  • Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with NAEYC standards

  • Supervise and guide Assistant Teachers and Aides, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines

  • Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols

  • Implement positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning strategies

Family Communication & School Collaboration

  • Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences

  • Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations

  • Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards

Qualifications


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required or in progress)


  • Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center

  • Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency

  • Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices

  • Effective communication skills with children, families, and co-workers

  • A love for young children and a commitment to their growth and well-being

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with curriculum models such as Reggio Emilia or Montessori is preferred, as our proprietary curriculum incorporates elements from both approaches.

  • Knowledge of state child care licensing regulations and quality standards

  • Background in inclusive education, sensory integration, or differentiated instruction is a plus
