rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Transports patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units.
- Facilitates getting patients ready for examinations including dressing patients. Assists patients on and off the examination tables.
- Sets up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintains exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees.
- Recognizes emergent situations and responds appropriately. Calls codes as needed.
- Identifies orders in epic, coordinates with technologist and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast.
- Adheres to the hospital policy on body substance isolation.
- Demonstrates safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff.
- Answers the telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent OR 2 years of work experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) - American Heart Association.

What you'll do
- The Radiology Tech Assistant is responsible for transporting patients, preparing them for examinations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment in the radiology department. They also assist with communication between patients and technologists and respond to emergent situations as needed.
