Job Title: Physician’s Office Manager

Job Summary

The Physician’s Office Manager oversees the daily administrative and operational functions of a medical practice. This role ensures efficient office operations, high-quality patient service, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination between clinical and administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the physician’s office to ensure smooth workflow
  • Supervise and train administrative and clinical support staff
  • Oversee patient scheduling, registration, and front-desk operations
  • Handle billing, coding, insurance verification, and claims management
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid)
  • Manage medical records and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Develop and enforce office policies and procedures
  • Monitor office budgets, expenses, and financial performance
  • Coordinate vendor relationships, supplies, and equipment maintenance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare management role (preferred)
  • Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and insurance processes
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical office software (preferably with NextGen)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage a fast-paced environment
