Overview

The Manager on Duty (MOD) oversees all casino operations during assigned shifts to ensure a safe, compliant, and guest‑focused environment. This role acts as the primary decision-maker on property, providing leadership to all departments, resolving guest issues, supporting employees, and maintaining operational standards aligned with company policies and Colorado Division of Gaming regulations.

 


Responsibilities

Operational Oversight

  • Supervise day‑to‑day casino operations, including gaming floor activity, food & beverage, hotel, Convienient Store, cage, security, and housekeeping.
  • Ensure compliance with all Colorado Limited Gaming Control Commission rules and internal controls.
  • Monitor staffing levels and adjust as needed to maintain service standards.
  • Conduct property walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and guest readiness.
  • Guest Service & Experience

    • Serve as the highest‑level authority on property during the shift for escalated guest concerns or service recovery.
    • Ensure team members deliver exceptional hospitality consistent with Golden Nugget brand standards.
    • Resolve disputes, complaints, and special accommodation requests professionally and promptly.

    Employee Support & Leadership

    • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to employees and supervisors during the shift.
    • Address attendance issues, performance concerns, and policy violations in partnership with HR when needed.
    • Promote a positive and professional work environment that supports teamwork and communication.

    Safety, Security & Compliance

    • Respond to emergencies, incidents, and security matters including guest injuries, disturbances, or regulatory issues.
    • Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of all incidents per company policy.
    • Verify adherence to Title 31/BSA/AML requirements, Responsible Gaming procedures, and ID verification standards.

    Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

    • Review shift reports, departmental logs, incident reports, and financial summaries.
    • Assist with jackpot approvals, table fills/credits, and cash variances.
    • Communicate shift activity to senior management and department heads through written and verbal reports.

    Communication & Coordination

    • Serve as the key liaison between departments during the shift.
    • Communicate operational updates, priorities, and directives to staff.
    • Support special events, promotions, and marketing activities as scheduled.

 


Qualifications

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Colorado gaming regulations and casino internal controls.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in fast‑paced environments.
  • Proficiency in casino management systems and Microsoft Office.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Colorado Division of Gaming Support License.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and respond quickly to incidents.

 


Pay Range

USD $57,765.00 - USD $62,000.00 /Yr.
