Peripatetic (Mobile catering assistant) to cover schools in the Rossendale /Blackburn and Burnley Areas. Mileage allowance. Term time only. Monday to Friday
Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service
You will work as part of a team in and around Lancaster providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children. This position is working as cover in various schools within Lancashire. Contracted to a minimum of 12.50 hours per week, pro rata
Key responsibilities:
Prepare the dining area for service, including the moving and setting up of furniture and putting away
Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages
Clean all equipment and catering areas
Run units in the absence of a UCS
What we are looking for:
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
Good customer care skills
Previous catering and food preparation experience would be essential
Running various kitchens in the absence of the unit manager
Working Hours/Days:
Monday to Friday
Term time only
Essential car user
12.50 hours per week, although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake and service needs
