About this role

Under the direction of the Director and Team Leader the registered nurse will assess, perform, document, and evaluate professional independent nursing practice. Job duties will include the following:

  • Prepare patient, family member and/or significant other for procedure by educating on preoperative requirements, confirms planned procedure and answers questions
  • Admit patient to the preoperative area, assesses patient and prepares the patient for surgery and/or planned procedure
  • Receive and monitor patient’s condition post procedure
  • Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence from anesthesia
  • Educate patients, family member and/or significant other by instructing them about procedure, medications, physician’s discharge orders and their continued care after discharge
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work schedule:

This is a .8 FTE (64 hours/2 weeks) 8 hour shifts starting anytime between 5:30 am and 11:00 am. No nights, weekends, or holidays expected.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates OR Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Two years of nursing experience in recovery room and/or related field such as ICU
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification preferred
