About this role

LabCorp is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our team in RTP, NC. 

Work Schedule: first shift Monday - Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM

Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only. Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associates degree in HVAC, Facilities, or a technical discipline is highly preferred
  • Must have a Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Previous experience in building and facilities maintenance is desired
  • Strong working knowledge of various hand and powers tools
  • HVAC Certification preferred or experience in this trade.
  • Prior experience with a Building Automation System is a plus
  • Ability to read and use operation and service manuals
  • Strong communication, prioritization and time management skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to multi task
  • Availability to work on-call as needed, including after hours and on weekends

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on various facilities systems including, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
  • Perform maintenance and repair on furniture systems, small equipment, lighting, plumbing fixtures, minor painting, furniture moves, clean-ups, and thermal comfort calls
  • Assist with grounds keeping as needed -- shoveling snow, spreading salt, gutter cleaning, trimming branches, etc.
  • Support the lab in repairing and testing general lab equipment when necessary, performing scheduled maintenance, equipment setups, and troubleshooting
  • Communicate effectively with the lab team to discuss the status of their maintenance needs
