Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking an RC-135 Raven Mission Simulation Systems Lead for our location at Nellis AFB, Nevada, supporting the USAF’s RC-135 mission aircraft and its related ground support systems.  Candidates for the position must already have a thorough understanding of the RC-135 mission, aircraft operational capabilities, employment, crew complements, and various supporting ground mission systems. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Leads sustainment and support for the RC-135 Mission Crew Training System (MCTS).
  • Develops and implements training scenarios, specializing in basic operator Raven functions while interacting with the user during aircrew training events.
  • Operates the MCTS and associated simulation scenario generation processors during mission simulations, Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events, and virtual exercises.
  • Make recommendations to improve scenario generation software and to resolve equipment problems.
  • Maintains the software used to operate the simulator and performs system troubleshooting and repair.
  • Knowledge and experience with the current RC-135 mission systems or equivalent platform or systems.
  • Must be able to work various shifts to include some weekends, mission dependent.
  • Willing and able to be Worldwide deployable with periodic travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs. up to 5% of the time.
  • Ascend/descend ladders up to 5% of the time.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of current or previous experience operating RC-135 Raven aircraft and/or mission training systems.
  • Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of current or previous experience operating RC-135 Raven aircraft and/or mission training systems.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of current or previous experience operating RC-135 Raven aircraft and/or mission training systems.
  • Must successfully obtain CompTIA Security+ certification or higher within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI Security Clearance and CI polygraph within the first year.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • RC-135V/W Raven Tactical Coordinator qualified.
  • RC-135 mission trainer operations and capabilities experience.
  • USAF weapon systems tactics and employment experienced/qualified.
  • Familiarity with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO).
  • LINUX and UNIX-based operating systems.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
