About this role

We are looking for a Senior Director to join our Commercial Disputes Expert Services team in Madrid. In this role you’ll work closely with lawyers to assist in the resolution of disputes, and, where appropriate, working closely with teams within the firm providing specialist advice to companies. This means a wide and varied exposure for you to be able to develop and gain further skills in areas such as financial crime, corporate fraud and corruption cases, and complex litigation and disputes including quantifying damages, determining contract disputes or providing commercial and strategic advice.

Navigating Responsibilities

As a Senior Director, you will lead major disputes and forensic accounting engagements across multiple jurisdictions, advising clients and legal teams on complex financial matters. You will shape case strategy, oversee multidisciplinary teams, and drive the growth of our disputes practice within a global professional services environment.

  • Provide strategic guidance in the early stages of disputes, including scoping and advising on forensic requirements.
  • Deliver high‑level technical accounting insights and financial analysis to senior legal stakeholders.
  • Lead and quality‑review expert witness reports.
  • Support court or tribunal proceedings as a senior advisor.
  • Build and expand executive‑level client relationships, originate new work, and contribute to new service offerings.
  • Mentor and develop teams to ensure high standards and continuous growth.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree-qualified in Finance or a related field, with a background in external audit, forensic accounting, transaction services, or broader accounting disciplines.
  • Extensive professional experience (typically 12–15+ years) with substantial involvement in complex disputes and contentious financial matters.
  • Demonstrated expertise acting in a dispute’s expert capacity, with deep knowledge of expert methodologies, reporting standards, and procedural expectations.
  • Outstanding analytical capability, including the ability to interpret, challenge, and synthesise large and complex datasets.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and a consistent track record of producing high‑quality written deliverables.
  • Professional, proactive, and energetic leadership style, with the ability to inspire teams and drive high performance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders, clients, and legal teams.
