MDM Strategy and Architecture Lead  (B Grade)

Our clients are facing an inevitable surge in demand for timely, accurate insights along with agentic Ai implementations.  This is amplifying the need to have high quality data, at the heart of which, is Master Data Management, a discipline that has, until now, been overlooked and has suffered underinvestment.  We are seeing unprecedented demand for MDM services across our client base who are looking for partners they can trust to architect their MDM solutions across complex technology landscapes.   We are well positioned to do this with alongside our technology alliance partners and now need to scale our capability in this area.

Role Overview:

KPMG UK is seeking an MDM Strategy & Architecture Lead to join our CDO Advisory Practice within Technology & Data, specializing in developing and implementing MDM strategy and architecture at enterprise scale.  In this role, you will lead impactful MDM projects in our largest clients from strategy through to implementation utilising our technology alliance partners and global delivery hubs as appropriate.  As a thought leader, you’ll develop our go-to-market propositions in this area, taking an Ai first approach to this traditional set of disciplines. The role will also have significant opportunity to influence the way AI shapes KPMG’s own way of doing business.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead MDM Transformations
• Drive large-scale MDM projects from strategy to implementation across our clients, employing Ai to delivery efficient and effective MDM processes.
• Provide MDM thought leadership to client stakeholders, advising on MDM strategies that support their digital transformation strategies
• Be the expert in the room, advising clients on MDM deployment and tooling strategies.
2. Technical Leadership and Collaboration
• Lead a team of MDM architects to design and deploy best in class, Ai enabled MDM processes.
• Establish the tools and accelerators that make our approach to the delivery of MDM projects efficient and innovative.
• Work with our technology Alliance partners to establish our joint go-to-market propositions
• Establish a collaborative relationship with other KPMG member firms where MDM capability is prevalent.  Work to align propositions and offerings.
3. Business Development & Practise Building
• Work with our Ignition teams to establish Ignition ready MDM collateral used to demonstrate the power of MDM to the C-Suite across our client base.
• Lead on responses to RFPs where MDM is a component part, bringing the best of KPMG to answer the client challenge.
• Support the build out and scale of the MDM capability across the firm in line with projected demand.  Including the build out of capability in our KPMG delivery network.
• Work with our Ai development teams to establish the tools and methods that differentiate our MDM delivery in the market.
• Attend and represent KPMG at critical market events.
4. Research & Innovation
• Stay relevant in the market by developing a thorough understanding the MDM tolling market developments across the key vendors
• Conduct research into new AI use cases and innovate to enhance KPMG’s offerings.
• Publish thought leadership regularly to enhance visibility of our brand in the market.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Educational Background:

• • We are keen to hear from people with the right skills and mindset. We think that this means you will likely have a degree in a related field (such as Computer Science, Statistics or a related field) – but that is not a must.

• • If you have a degree in a different field, or no degree at all but significant professional experience in a related field, please consider applying

• Certifications in technology such as Informatica, MS Purview, Tibco, Collibra are an advantage but not necessary.

• Work Experience:
• Strong background of MDM deployment experience, in industry or a consulting setting.
• Proven experience of MDM across multiple industry types such as CPG, Industrial Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Financial Services and or public sector.
• Experience managing a wide range of stakeholders in complex situations.
• Proven ability to influence all the way up to C Suite.
• Skills:
• Deep understanding of MDM tooling architecture.
• Expert level MDM process knowledge.
• Solid understanding of how Ai can benefit MDM.
• Strong people development skills
