Cloud Engineering – Consulting 

 
The Cloud Engineering team at KPMG drives cloud transformation across Azure, AWS, and GCP by delivering secure, scalable, and automated solutions. The team specializes in infrastructure automation, cloud migrations, data workload modernization, cloud value optimization etc. With deep expertise in DevOps, IaC, and cloud-native services, they enable clients to accelerate innovation and reduce operational complexity. Leveraging KPMG’s strategic alliances with major cloud providers, the team ensures tailored cloud strategies that align with business goals, optimize costs, and unlock the full potential of cloud technologies—including AI and automation—for long-term value creation. 

  The Role 

As a Cloud Engineering Consultant, you will support KPMG with the delivery of immediate value and impact, to customers looking to embed new and emerging technologies in their landscape. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Consultant (4–8 years) with strong expertise in either in Microsoft Azure or in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The consultant will work on cloud infrastructure, data services, DevOps, automation, and modern AI/GenAI solutions. It is an exciting time to join this team as we drive momentum and enhance our presence in cloud sector globally.

Your key responsibilities will include - 

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (Azure / GCP) including compute, networking, storage, and IAM/security.
• Design, implement and manage serverless application deployment using Cloud Run / Azure Container Service, Load Balancer, DNS, Cloud Function / Azure Function. 
• Deploy and manage data services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Synapse, Data Factory, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Data Lake solutions.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning and automation.
• Implement and optimize DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE/AKS), and monitoring tools.
• Develop automation scripts and serverless functions in Cloud Function / Azure Function using Python.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.
• Explore and support use cases for Generative AI (GenAI), AI/ML services, and Vertex AI / Azure OpenAI.

Mandatory Skills

• 4–8 years of experience in cloud consulting, cloud engineering, or DevOps engineering.
• Strong expertise in MS Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Hands-on experience in infrastructure services (VMs, networking, load balancers, firewalls, storage, IAM).
• Experience with data services (databases, warehouses, data pipelines, ETL tools).
• Terraform proficiency for IaC.
• Python scripting for automation and data workflows.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to Generative AI (GenAI), Machine Learning pipelines, Vertex AI, or Azure OpenAI.
• Certification in GenAI technology is a plus.
• Familiarity with security best practices, cloud cost optimization, and monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Google Cloud Monitoring, Azure Monitor).
