About this role
• Assist in the preparation, assembly, and display of cafeteria food items according to established recipes and portion standards.
• Serve food and beverages to customers at the cafeteria counter in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Ensure food items are correctly labelled, presented attractively, and maintained at appropriate holding temperatures.
• Replenish food displays, condiments, and service areas during operating hours.
• Clear and clean dining areas, including tables, counters, and tray return stations.
• Collect, sort, and transport soiled trays, crockery, and utensils to the wash-up area.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of cutleries, containers, crockery, kitchen, cafeteria, and service areas in compliance with food safety and Infection Control requirements.
• Assist with in-house catering functions and special event food service when required.
• Receive, label, and arrange food items and supplies in storage areas.
• Replenish supplies and verify stock levels as directed.
• Report equipment malfunction, safety concerns, or food quality issues promptly.
• Provide courteous and responsive service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
• Record meal service data and simple operational documentation.
• Comply with Halal, food hygiene, and hospital safety standards in all tasks.
• Operate cafeteria equipment, trolleys, and cleaning tools safely and correctly.
• Follow shift-closing procedures, including area cleaning, waste segregation, and equipment shutdown.
