Residency Medical Education Program


The Institutional Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the residency/fellowship training program and support for the program and residents. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of ACGME accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.


Responsibilities/Skills Requirements:

  • Management of ongoing accreditation activities to ensure timelines are met, and administrative duties required for the department.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance with the requirements of the accreditation.
  • Oversee resident recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of the new residents.
  • Provides administrative support to the Designated Institutional Officer (DIO).
  • Acts as the central overseer between faculty, attending physicians, residents, medical students, and the residency program clinical practice, other institutional departments, and regulatory authorities.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the unique issues of graduate medical education, including residency program accreditation regulations.
  • Experience and skills in resource planning and scheduling.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrate ability to take initiative, prioritize work, manage time and respond effectively to rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to communicate positively, effectively, and professionally on an interpersonal and technical level, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, web-based databases, and scheduling programs.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience, 6 years of related experience.
  • Previous healthcare, sales, marketing, or recruiting background is preferred with specific knowledge of the medical/physician community.
  • Previous program coordinator experience.
