About this role

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Power Platform Developer with a Secret security clearance to support KITS and our government customer in Huntsville, AL. This is an onsite position.

Koniag IT Systems, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Power Platform Developer to support our Army customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This on-site role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining solutions built on the Microsoft Power Platform for the Army Materiel Command (AMC). The ideal candidate will have strong experience across the Power Platform suite, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents. This position requires on-site presence in Huntsville, Alabama.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The Power Platform Developer will be responsible for the full development lifecycle of solutions built on the Microsoft Power Platform. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Solution Development:

  • Design, build, and customize Canvas and Model driven Power Apps
  • Create and optimize Power Automate flows to automate business processes
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for analytics and visualization
  • Build and maintain Dataverse data models, relationships, and business rules
  • Develop and deploy Dataverse plug ins to extend business logic and enforce custom rules
  • Utilize the Power Platform CLI (PAC CLI) for solution management, environment administration, and ALM practices
  • Design and configure Power Pages to deliver secure, user-friendly external portals integrated with Dataverse and other data sources

Integration & Data Management:

  • Connect Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365)
  • Integrate with SQL Server, REST APIs, and external data sources
  • Support data migration and ensure efficient data structures for scalability

Governance & Security:

  • Implement security roles, permissions, and data governance best practices
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and federal security standards
  • Apply ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) practices for Power Platform solutions

Support & Collaboration:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Power Platform applications
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Provide training and documentation for end users and program teams
  • Participate in code reviews and solution architecture discussions

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with Power Platform updates, new features, and best practices
  • Contribute to performance optimization and user experience enhancements
  • Support adoption of SDLC principles and agile methodologies within the team

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4+ years of experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform
  • Demonstrated experience with Power Apps (both Canvas and Model-driven)
  • Experience creating workflows with Power Automate
  • Background in developing reports and dashboards with Power BI
  • Knowledge of Power Virtual Agents chatbot development
  • Certifications (preferred not required):
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL 400)
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Developer Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ 204)
  • Microsoft Certified: Teams Application Developer Associate (MS 600)

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications
  • Experience working in Army or DoD environments
  • Knowledge of federal security requirements and compliance
  • Experience with Azure services integration
  • Background in SharePoint development or administration
  • Proficiency in developing Canvas Apps with advanced formulas and functions
  • Experience creating Model-driven Apps with Dataverse
  • Strong knowledge of Power Automate flow development and automation
  • Ability to design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Experience developing Power Virtual Agents chatbots
  • Knowledge of Dataverse data modeling and relationship design
  • Understanding of solution architecture principles for Power Platform
  • Experience witgh integrating Power Platform with other Microsoft 365 services
  • Ability to connect to and work with various data sources
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and web service integration
  • Understanding of security and data governance in Power Platform
  • Experience with application lifecycle management for Power Platform solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience creating technical documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative environments
  • Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles
  • Willingness to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
