About this role

Koniag Technology and infrastructure Solutions (KTIS) is seeking a skilled Application Liaison to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. This role is critical in ensuring that technology solutions meet business needs and are successfully implemented across the organization. 

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
The Application Liaison will serve as a key intermediary between business units and IT teams, ensuring that applications and systems effectively support business operations. Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the primary point of contact between business users and IT departments for assigned applications
  • Gather and document business requirements, translating them into functional specifications for development teams
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure proper implementation of application changes and enhancements
  • Provide guidance to users on application capabilities, features, and best practices
  • Create and maintain application documentation, user guides, and training materials
  • Deliver training to end users on new applications, features, and workflows
  • Test application updates and new features before they are released to production
  • Identify opportunities for application improvements and process optimization
  • Assist in troubleshooting application issues and coordinating resolution
  • Participate in application deployment planning and change management activities
  • Monitor application performance and user satisfaction metrics
  • Collaborate with project managers on application-related initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of business processes and how they relate to application functionality
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on application projects and issues
  • Support the full application lifecycle from requirements through implementation and maintenance

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in an application support, business analysis, or related role
  • Experience working with enterprise applications and systems
  • Background in bridging business and IT functions

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Strong understanding of business processes and how they relate to application functionality
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Experience with requirements gathering and documentation
  • Knowledge of application testing methodologies and practices
  • Proficiency in creating user documentation and training materials
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders

  • Familiarity with project management concepts and practices

  • Experience with specific Defense Personal Property System (DPS), Electronic Transportation Operational Personal Property Standards System (eTOPS), or MilMove
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITIL)
  • Experience in government contracting environments
  • Background in software development or IT operations
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with agile development practices
  • Training or facilitation experience
  • Knowledge of database concepts and basic SQL
  • Experience with application lifecycle management tools
