We are looking for a Summer Trainee,  IoT Datalake Engineer to join the Digital Operations team in the Machine Data Platform. As a Summer Trainee you daily tasks will include working with different digital applications, cybersecurity matters and data compliance and standards, for example

• Implementing small improvements in IoT Data pipelines using AWS services and Athena.
• Contributing to writing or updating tests to keep systems reliable.
• Contributing to writing or updating documentation and mapping tables.
• Take part in investigating data quality issues including identifying affected pipelines, assessing the scope and volume of the problem, and proposing corrective actions.

You will work closely with your team members who help you get started and support you in your day-to-day activities. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your cooperation skills and network with the best talents of your industry. The position is based in Espoo with the possibility for partial remote work.

What kind of talent are we looking for?  

This role is ideal for a Computer science or Engineering student who is eager to learn more about IoT and Digital service tasks. You are welcome to Konecranes as yourself, but we especially value your proactiveness, ability to think outside the box and create innovative solutions to complex problems, ability to work independently and deliver on results.  Our work environment is highly international, so proficiency in English and the courage to work in an international work environment are important. 
 
Requirements:  

• Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering or similar (preferably 3rd-4th year studies) 
• Understanding of Computer science fundamentals
• Experience in some or all of the following: SQL, Github, Jenkins, AWS cloud tools (IoT Core, Athena, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch), API usage/development, requirements management tools, issue tracker, collaboration and documentation tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Any other similar tools
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
