As a Machine Builder with Koch Finishing Systems, you will play a vital role in constructing and assembling complex automated finishing equipment. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that directly supports the high-quality systems our customers rely on.
Key responsibilities:
Serve as a core contributor in the assembly of automated finishing systems using blueprints, engineering memos, sketches, and technical specifications
Fit and assemble mechanical components using hand and power tools
Verify part conformance with measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and micrometers
Lay out hole locations, drill/tap components, and prepare assemblies
Align, bolt, screw, or weld parts using both hand tools and welding equipment
Install wiring and electrical components according to specifications
Remove imperfections and prepare parts using chisels, scrapers, grinders, and related tools
Verify alignment, tolerances, and functionality of moving components
Perform test operations and adjustments to ensure equipment is ready for installation or shipment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Assist with troubleshooting, rebuild, and repair work as needed
Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with H3 Lean principles
Perform other duties as assigned
A strong candidate will bring:
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (welding, grinding, painting, soldering exposure)
Proficiency with custom welding and industrial spray painting
Knowledge of automated finishing systems, plumbing, fittings, and electrical components
Ability to operate equipment such as drill presses, lathes, plasma cutters, metal shaping/bending machines, and MIG/TIG welding tools
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding specifications
Understanding of quality standards and the ability to inspect welds and components
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Solid math, reading, writing, and communication abilities
Forklift (Hi-Lo) experience preferred
