About this role

Position: CAD Designer

Shift: Monday - Friday, Full Time

Our CAD Designer plays an important part on the Watson Metal Masters Engineering team.
The Engineering Team works with the Project Managers, the Sales Team, Quality, and Production in designing equipment that solves complex challenges for our customers’ manufacturing needs. They have a pivotal role in our product design process and work to analyze new ways we can improve our current and future designs based on their extensive knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs pressure vessels, tanks, agitators, platforms and ladders that are specific to customer requirements using 3D modeling software.
  • Updates current production designs to meet customer needs, in keeping with internal standards.
  • Develops Bill of Material, customer drawings, manufacturing drawings and other related engineering documents.
  • Provides product and part design innovations resulting in improved quality and cost reductions.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Associates degree in mechanical engineering/design strongly preferred; may consider equivalent combination of education and practical experience.  

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

  • Must be proficient in the use of 3D modeling software; Autodesk Inventor experience is preferred;
  • Experienced in the use of ERP or MRP Software (i.e., Syteline);
  • Experience in the design of ASME pressure vessels preferred.  
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience.

  • Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel. 
  • Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties
