Position: Brake Press Operator - Class B
Shift: Tuesday - Friday 5:30am -3:30pm
Pay: $19-20/hr

 

Job Purpose 

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Brake Press Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a brake press machine to shape & bend, metal materials according to production specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This position requires someone that has a willingness to learn the art of Brake Press Operation and has the motivation to grow within the department. To move to the next level, progression will be at the manager's discretion, in addition to passing the skills test for the next level. Team Members must remain in the current class for a minimum of 90 days.

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

 

  • Machine Operation: Operate brake press machines to perform various tasks such as bending, forming, and cutting metal materials according to blueprints and work orders.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload metal sheets or parts into the brake press machine, ensuring proper alignment and positioning for accurate operation.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects, measurements, and conformity to specifications. Make necessary adjustments to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on the brake press machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and reporting any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Documentation: Accurately record production data, including job completion times, material usage, and any issues encountered during the production process.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines. Communicate effectively regarding any production issues or concerns.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required

 

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required
  • Basic Mechanical Aptitude & understanding of Brake press Opererations preferred
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings (Training Provided).
  • Strong sttention to detail and commitment to producing high-quiality work.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions preferred, but not required
