About The Role
Location: Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang
Reporting To: Project Manager
Objective
To ensure that all construction activities for the biomass steam plant are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The IoW will serve as the on-site technical authority for monitoring workmanship, materials, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight
• Monitor daily site activities including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical works.
• Verify that construction follows approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Conduct inspections at key milestones (e.g., foundation, piping, boiler installation, etc.).
Quality Assurance
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet project quality standards and codes.
• Witness and document testing procedures (e.g., hydrostatic tests, weld inspections, NDT).
• Maintain detailed inspection records and issue non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary.
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce site safety protocols and report unsafe practices.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Coordination & Reporting
• Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives.
• Provide daily and weekly progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Assist in resolving technical issues and site queries.
Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial plant construction, preferably biomass or steam systems.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, BS, and local construction codes.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and site reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
