About the Role:

Responsibilities
Safety
- Work safely and continually look for improvements in personnel and equipment safety
- Ensure safe design and operation of new equipment
- Ensure automation design reflects safety and ergonomic concerns for operations and maintenance
Automation Design
- Partner with colleagues to lead the discipline through solution assessment, replication, and development
- Provide support to manufacturing during project profiling and design
- Exploring and implementing new ways to automate systems
- Designing and testing automation equipment and processes
- Eliminating defects and errors with product and software development
- Analysis of operations, workflows, and packaging process to provide solutions to maximize efficiency and reduce waste
Project Engineering
- Ensure project design meets intended requirements, considers life cycle cost, and eliminates non-value add complexity
- Use replication and best practices to optimize project cost
- Work with other engineering team members and disciplines to deliver turnkey project implementation to the plants
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering or technology field
Experience:
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience as an Automation Engineer or Similar
- Factory storeroom experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to travel 35% of the time
- Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
- Experience with robotics, AI and machine learning
- Experience with project management
- Solid understanding of computer programming and software development
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to communicate well with other members of the engineering team
