We have a full-time opportunity for a competency Assurance Coordinator, ideally based within the Waikato region (negotiable) This is a full-time role that sits within the Competency Assurance team under Learning & Development and are key to ensuring our workforce remains compliant, well trained and are always competent to task.


You’ll coordinate and maintain systems used to track training and competency, validate data for safety-critical roles, and support assurance processes across the business. Your work will help teams meet regulatory standards, prepare for audits, and identify areas for improvement.


This role supports KiwiRail’s transformation by enabling safe and capable operations, now and into the future.

To succeed in these roles, you’ll bring a mix of system knowledge, analysis capability, and strong people engagement skills as well as a collaborative approach to your work. In addition:


•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for explaining competency requirements, providing feedback, and collaborating with stakeholders.
•    Building and maintaining positive relationships with workers, Managers and stakeholders across the organization.
•    Competency in using various Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is often required. 
•     Ability to use and manage software systems for tracking and reporting on employee competencies
•    Ability to analyse competency data, identify trends, and generate reports to inform training and development decisions.
•    A proactive, safety-focused mindset

 

You’ll also need to:
•    Hold a current full NZ Driver’s Licence to be able to travel to operational sites as needed
•    Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
