Assistant Graphic Designer, SMU Apparel

Location: HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Status: Full-time/100% on-site
Compensation: $60,000-$65,000 annually

Position Summary

The Assistant Graphic Designer will be assisting on all-things SMU from graphics, label development, and sample development. This person should be organized and making sure WIPs are up to date and being a liaison to other teams to ensure everyone is aligned on all collections from a graphics perspective and legal perspective.

Responsibilities

• Work and report alongside graphic designer and head of design across multiple projects in a fast paced environment.

• Collaborate with graphic designer in creating mood boards, concept direction, project kick-offs, and collaborative collections.

• Assist on the product development of graphic styles (understanding product lifecycle processes).

• Assist team with factory communications and organization of labels, patches, hangtags, and samples as they are internally reviewed.

• Assist in being a liaison across all teams working on special projects in regards to labels, hangtags, samples, and understanding co-brand compliance

• Attend weekly design meetings and recap with graphic designer.

Qualifications

• Equipped with 1-3 year(s) experience.

• Collaborative team player and self-starter.

• Illustration skills are a strong plus.

• Detail oriented designer.

• PLM experience and understanding.

• Ability to manage multiple project with strong organization skills and meet deadlines.

• Experienced in fashion terminologies, product development and design.

• Exceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in Google Sheets,/Excel, PLM systems, Adobe Suite.

• Understands sports and Informed on fashion brands and the fashion scene.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Fashion design tech skills are a strong plus.

• Personal Characteristics: Responsible, organized, friendly, quick learner, detail-oriented, understands trends, passionate.
