About this role

Job Description

The Resident Care Coordinator @ Balfour Senior Living in Littleton coordinates care services provided by care associates for the residents within the Care Department. Provides care for residents as directed by supervisor ensuring exemplary service is delivered with integrity, dignity, and compassion. Responsible for the delivery of high-quality care while encouraging independence and ensuring each resident’s physical, social, cultural, and intellectual well-being.

 

Location: Balfour Senior Living Littleton | 8160 W Coal Mine Ave, Littleton, CO 80123

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 9 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay: $35-$38/hr DOE

 

 

What will I do every day?

  • Regularly monitors and evaluates the health and well-being of the residents and assess levels of care needed whenever there is a change in condition and/or to determine whether a resident is no longer appropriate for the setting, notifying Assistant Living Director as required
  • Assist residents with simple requests as needed or finds appropriate associate to assist
  • Learns and understands resident preferences for opportunities to provide exemplary customer service, exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfaction
  • Responds to all residents, family members and/or staff in a tactful and timely manner
  • Reviews all physician orders and with support from their supervisor and ensures the correct caries given
  • Familiar with medical terminology necessary in the delivery of care services to residents
  • May be asked to interface with physicians, care providers, and outside health services pertaining to the resident’s needs (i.e., hospital, outpatient service, home health, therapies, etc.)
  • Observes, reports and document all care provided to each resident in alignment with their care plan for each shift and immediately notifies Care Services Director of any changes in a resident’s condition or needs
  • May be asked to assist with planning, preparing, and monitoring daily work schedules to meet labor targets
  • May be asked to assist with reviewing payroll documentation to minimize missed punches, monitor overtime, and manage labor costs
  • Assess residents utilizing the company’s resident care software system
  • Manages emergency situations responsibly and calmly until aid arrives
  • Works as part of the team within the department and across the community
  • Attends staff meetings and daily stand-ups
  • Responsible for managing own payroll time-cards and must punch in/out in accordance with their pre-determined schedule
  • Always maintains resident confidentiality and privacy
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing uniform and name tag when working
  • Ensures open and honest communication with all associates
  • Suggests ways to create efficiencies
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediately
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Adhere to all regulations, laws and company standards, including the Associate Handbook
  • Understand and support the community sales process
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

What will I need to be successful in this role?

  • Be a great team player
  • QMAP certification (for CO) (or state-required medication training certification).
  • One to three years’ experience working in senior care

 

Special Requirements/Certifications I may need?

 

  • CPR Certified is preferred
  • QMAP certification (for CO) (or state-required medication training certification
  • Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
