Position:   Seed Production Incharge

Summary:  

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Seed Production Incharge / Production Manager to lead and manage end-to-end seed production operations. The role involves planning, execution, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and team management to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production aligned with business targets and statutory norms. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of seed/agri-input production and the ability to drive operational excellence.  

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement production plans based on demand forecasts and seasonal requirements

  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials

  • Monitor daily operations with batch-wise production tracking and output reporting

  • Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, manpower, and materials

2. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO, BIS, FCO, CIBRC, Seed Act, etc.)

  • Coordinate with QC/QA teams for in-process and final product testing

  • Maintain batch records, traceability, and documentation

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable industry laws and regulations

3. Regulatory & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with factory rules, EHS norms, and statutory requirements

  • Monitor safe handling, storage, and disposal of agrochemicals and hazardous materials

  • Conduct regular safety audits and organize safety and SOP training programs

4. Team & Resource Management

  • Supervise, train, and manage plant staff, supervisors, and machine operators

  • Define KPIs for production teams and review performance periodically

  • Maintain discipline, motivation, and safety culture across shifts

5. Cost & Efficiency Optimization

  • Control wastage, minimize downtime, and improve productivity

  • Implement lean manufacturing practices and 5S methodologies

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to reduce breakdowns and improve machine uptime

6. Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports

  • Coordinate with R&D, QA, supply chain, sales, and regulatory teams

  • Support internal and external audits with complete documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Seed Technology, Production, Chemical Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in seed or agri-input production (experience level can be customized)

  • Strong knowledge of FCO, BIS, CIBRC, Seed Act, ISO, and EHS norms

  • Proven ability in production planning, cost control, and team management

  • Strong reporting, documentation, and coordination skills
