About this role

The Senior Professional Controls Engineer manages and oversees all engineering deliverables required to successfully execute projects from kick-off through customer acceptance. Partnering closely with the Project Manager, this role translates customer technical requirements into defined engineering tasks and ensures those tasks are completed on time, on budget, and with quality.
As a senior leader, the Controls Engineer assigns and coordinates work across engineering disciplines. This position requires both technical depth and cross-functional collaboration, serving as a key link between engineering execution and project delivery.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,000-$166,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What We Are Looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).

  • Prior experience leading project technical deliverables, prefer material handling project experience

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering or project management

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to deliver results.

  • Demonstrated problem solver with excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to navigate, influence and operate in a strongly matrixed global organization.

What You Will Do In This Role:

  • Translate project contractual technical requirements into deliverables and tasks for engineering teams (design/layout, emulation, order entry, drawings, commissioning).

  • Identify required resources across engineering teams and external suppliers; assign and monitor tasks across the project team.

  • Ensure all deliverables and solutions meet quality standards, processes, and established engineering practices.

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting engineering tasks to prevent project delays.

  • Monitor and manage project/team performance to ensure KPIs are achieved.

  • Deliver assigned work packages on time and within budget, as defined by the Project Manager.

  • Act as the main point of contact for project management, Mechanical Engineering, mechanical and electrical installation, procurement, and manufacturing regarding engineering deliverables.

  • Collaborate with ME/CE Leads to ensure third-party specifications and resale component requirements are accurate and complete.

  • Partner with the SIM to provide input on project schedules, resource estimates, and standard design adoption.

  • Align with line managers regarding availability, performance, and development of engineering resources.

  • Track engineering progress against schedule; report updates with ME/CE Leads and SAE.

  • Prepare project status reports, financial forecasts, and schedule updates.

  • Support project risk management by documenting, escalating, and mitigating risks; prepare PSR/PVRs as needed.

  • Lead technical reviews and conduct post-mortems with project managers to drive continuous improvement.
