About this role

Dematic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to join our Product Development group in our Technology Center in Monterrey, Mexico. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in mechanical design, verification, validation, and sustaining activities of industrial machinery. This role involves collaborating in the design, development, and sustaining of mechatronic products for various industry verticals, including food & beverage, apparel, and e-commerce. The position reports to the Mechatronics Manager.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is what you will do in this role:

  • Collaborate in the design and development of mechatronic products, including mechanical and electrical components.
  • Build, modify, and mhandle3D models and drawings using Siemens NX for machined, sheet metal, plastic, and extruded parts.
  • Own the design process from requirements through testing, validation, and product release.
  • Complete engineering change processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of drawings and documentation.
  • Support multi-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, operations, sales, and installation.
  • Participate in design reviews, product improvement initiatives, and continuous collaboration with project teams.
  • Conduct product validation on-site, including testing and reporting findings to management.
  • Implement industry standards like UL, CE, and AWS in design and development.
  • Use tools such as GD&T, FEA, and Product Lifecycle Management systems to improve product quality and performance.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, managing multiple tasks independently and maintaining professional communication standards.

What we are looking for:

  • A proactive and meticulous engineer with a strong background in mechatronics or mechanical/electrical design.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, with the ability to create and modify complex models and technical drawings.
  • Tried understanding of engineering standards such as UL, CE, and AWS.
  • Experience with GD&T, FEA, and familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Someone with a problem-solving mentality who can conduct studies and propose product improvements.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced, diverse team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in both English and Spanish to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams.
  • A strong teammate who can coordinate with internal and external departments to support design, production, and quality efforts.
  • Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges, especially in a collaborative, agile product development setting.
  • A professional who maintains high standards in their work ethic, communication, and workspace organization.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing and developing equipment preferably machinery.
  • Need practical hands-on working knowledge of equipment design with experience in equipment testing, installation, commissioning as a plus.
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering as a minimum (Professional license is a must).
  • Experience with Teamcenter and Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools is a plus.
  • Mexican passport and US tourist VISA required
