About this role

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a passionate and highly skilled Product Owner to join our Technology Solutions team. As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in the software development process by ensuring that business needs are clearly understood and translated into actionable requirements. You will be a bridge across business, sales, marketing, development, and practice stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration to deliver high-quality software products. Your responsibilities will include the product vision, roadmap, maintaining the product backlog, and ensuring the delivery of value to the end-users. This is a highly cross-functional role with great opportunity to expand Kimley-Horn’s software business in its next stages of growth.

 

This is an in office position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evolve and communicate the product vision, value, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with KHTS team.
  • Monitor product financials and metrics against goals and budget.
  • Partner closely with marketing, sales, UX/UI and development to identify market research, user feedback, and business needs. Provide support and timely communication to stakeholders, including marketing and sales teams, to ensure successful go-to-market strategies and customer adoption of new software features and solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to collect requirements and create clear user stories and acceptance criteria. Prepare process flows and documentation to support software development. Lead workshops, interviews, and focus groups to identify and understand stakeholder needs.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with revenue goals, business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Participate in product launches including demonstrations and presentations to effectively communicate the features, benefits, and value proposition of our solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a product owner or business analyst role
  • Experience working in and communicating about modern SaaS technical solutions
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile team
  • Self-starter and excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Effective communicator with emotional intelligence
  • Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and prospective clients
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with clients, partners, and within the team
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring staff

Preferred:

  • Solar Industry or Renewable Energy Industry experience
  • CAD experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar
  • Geospatial data experience
  • Experience in business analysis or data analytics
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification
  • Familiarity with UX/UI design principles
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design principles
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification
