About this role

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Plumbing Engineer with 8+ years of experience to join the Los Angeles, California (CA) office!

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience in plumbing design and engineering consulting, particularly within the healthcare, data center, industrial industries.

  • Support plumbing design execution for various healthcare projects under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, coordination, and budgeting
  • Prepare engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Assist in the preparation of cost proposals and project contracts, including add service agreements
  • Participate in MEP systems reviews, engaging with code officials, contractors, architects, and clients to drive compliance and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Participate in quality control reviews of MEP system designs, calculations, and drawings
  • Provide support to designers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Gain experience in managing projects, with the opportunity for career growth into senior-level roles

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Plumbing design and engineering for healthcare projects within an engineering consulting environment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Experience with design software such as Revit BIM, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Easypower
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively on project teams
  • A PE license and/or Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) is preferred, but candidates pursuing licensure will be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a project management capacity

Salary Range: 

$115,000 - $150,000
