About this role

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Construction Management students to join our Irving, Texas (TX) office! This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design phase responsibilities to include constructibility reviews, design scheduling, contract time determination scheduling, franchise utility coordination, opinions of probable construction cost, specification and bid package development (including competitive sealed proposal method), temporary traffic control design, and construction phasing. 
  • Participate in bidding phase responsibilities to include bid scheduling and coordination, advertising projects, coordinating and running pre-bid meetings, addendum coordination and distribution, bid tabulations, contractor reference checks, and recommendations of contract. 
  • Participate in construction phase responsibilities to include construction scheduling and contractor schedule review, progress meetings, submittal review, construction inspection and observation, pay application review, change orders, time impact analysis, project closeout, and project documentation. 
  • Interns will learn one or more software platforms specific to their tasks: MS Project, Oracle Primavera P6, ProjectMates, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, or similar.
  • Travel required to sites.  

Qualifications

  • In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Construction Engineering
    • Construction Management
