The Assistant Buyer reports to the Purchasing Manager. This role will support the manager with all procurement-related tasks including identifying appropriate materials, managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory, assisting with budgets as well as providing administrative support. The Assistant Buyer will work with vendors and monitor market trends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review weekly material requirements and co-ordinate shipments of incoming materials with Suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
Expedite/de-expedite materials based on changes in production schedule.
Expedite replacement for materials that have been damaged or are otherwise not available as required.
Monitor print quality of labels and maintain Label files.
Maintain records and process returnable packaging items and Recycling
Match invoices and pricing on materials and inbound freight.
Enter, update, and maintain inbound receiving schedule.
Use effective communication to ensure supplier service and delivery.
Participate in quality improvement process, HACCP, ISO, Audits, etc. to meet company goals.
Perform various administrative duties as required for all Kikkoman Foods, Inc. locations.
Other duties as assigned.

High School degree or GED

Physical & Behavioral:
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time doing office tasks on a computer
Frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
Occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb, crouch, stoop or kneel
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds usually from floor to waist level, up to 20 feet away
Ability to work under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for extended periods of time
