Regional Technical Services Engineer, EMS, south/central UK.

 

Location: Ideally the candidate will be basedin the south-central part of England (between Oxford and west London / Windsor area), however other (reasonable) locations will also be considered.

It is a Field-based role, with travel expected, meeting customer visit requirements.

 

In this role you will be the technical point of contact for customers and sales colleagues, with regards to our EMS product portfolio. You will maintain and develop EMS products and services to the Fire and Security industry, plan and carry out field support activities for the EMS product lines in the UK market, support sales activities as required (in accordance with the company plan). Providing technical product training is also a part of your job description.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Attend sites, where EMS products are installed to provide technical assistance to installer/maintaining companies.
  • Complete site visit reports in accordance with company requirements.
  • Respond to and follow up technical enquiries as necessary.
  • Supply technical support regionally and outside of the local area, where required.
  • Undertake customer trainings on EMS products, when suitably trained to do so.
  • Carry out radio site surveys as part of company sales requirements.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships, aligning with company objectives.
  • Liaise with and inform the internal Technical Support Department regarding any site technical information required by installing and maintaining companies.  
  • Attend technical conference calls to discuss any sites regionally that require technical assistance.   
  • Ensure that all efforts are undertaken to meet company targets and timescales.
  • Attend and present at customer and internal meetings in accordance with regional and company objectives.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.
  • Any additional training requirements to be highlighted to Technical Services Manager for action, if deemed necessary.

 

Key requirements:

  • Min. 3 years of relevant experience in the Fire & Security industry is a must.
  • Good understanding of fire and security industry codes of practice.
  • Good general knowledge of EMS products and services will be a strong advantage.
  • Appropriate computer skills in MS Office package, internet and email.
  • Native/fluent English.
  • Full driving license.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Be able to work well with others to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to present oneself and company products in a professional and competent manner.
  • Credible and comfortable in dealing with tense situations.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Provide feedback on new and existing product functionality/operation.
