Product Development Program Manager

Location: Barcelona, Spain (regular presence at the KGS office)
Reporting to: PMO Leader

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Product Development Program Manager to drive best practices, standard work, and analytics within the Project Management organization. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of product development initiatives, including both new product development and sustaining engineering projects.

The Program Manager will lead cross-functional programs, oversee project execution, and ensure alignment with business processes, standards, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage strategic programs for the Business Unit and cross-functional initiatives.

• Coordinate internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including progress tracking and robust risk management practices.

• Identify, assess, and manage changes in scope, schedule, and cost in line with established governance processes.

• Measure and monitor project performance using metrics such as SPI, CPI, Earned Value, and variance analysis.

• Proactively identify and mitigate program risks.

• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation aligned with gated review (Passport) standards.

• Provide clear, timely communication to project teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership.

• Drive cross-functional development of standard work and continuous process improvement.

• Lead root cause analysis for product issues using tools such as fault-tree analysis and fishbone diagrams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in program/project management within a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.

• Proven track record of launching at least two products end-to-end.

• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

• Solid technical aptitude to lead cross-functional engineering projects.

• Program/Project Management certification (e.g. PMP) or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with Agile development methodologies is an advantage.

• Background in fire detection and alarm systems is a strong plus.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.

• Forward-thinking mindset with strong risk anticipation and management skills.

• Proactive, influential, and collaborative approach to engaging stakeholders.

• Self-driven personality with a strong “make it happen” attitude.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Program Management professional who works independently, leads small to medium-sized programs, analyzes data to resolve complex issues, manages vendors, maintains progress reporting, and contributes to contract negotiations.
