Position Summary: The Landscaping Technician/Gardener is responsible for managing all aspects of resort landscape operations at a luxury, grand scale resort and reports to The Director of Landscaping. Aspects include the execution of landscape improvements, enhancements, and day to day maintenance for 140+ acres of K.I.G.R. property including a Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond oceanfront hotel, 5 golf course clubhouses, a 22 court tennis facility, a public park, 4 pool complexes, recreation fields and amenities, retail and common area spaces, maintenance facilities buildings, along with beach access boardwalks. This position functions onsite between the hours of 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday, with occasional work on Saturday. 6a-230p during spring, summer and fall. Experience in related field will have consideration for higher pay compensation.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum Education – High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum Age – 18 years or older due to the nature of the role.
  • Minimum Experience – Minimum of 6 months working in related field.
  • Held a full time position for 6 months or more within one position.
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Good to Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have own transportation to and from the resort. 

 

Expectations & Responsibilities:

All aspects of landscape maintenance, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Policing grounds for trash, litter, and debris
  • Planting bed maintenance
  • Enhancement bed maintenance and installation
  • Pruning
  • Mowing
  • Chemical application
  • Irrigation Maintenance
  • Capable of learning landscape maintenance operation
  • Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort
  • All other duties as assigned

 

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must be able to stand for entirety of shift, while bending, stretching, and lifting.
  • Must be able to work in all-weather conditions, sometimes light rain or extreme heat.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
