About this role

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Plant Operations, perform overall Physical Plant Management responsibilities including, but not limited to supervision of personnel, and maintenance in the physical plant, buildings and property.


Work Location and Hours:

This position will primarily be at Keystone Potato Products, LLC.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all activities involved in maintaining and repairing the building, systems and equipment of Keystone Potato Products, LLC.
  • Responsible for identifying and correcting defects in structures and implementing measures to correct them.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of contractors.
  • Identify and prioritize tasks and activities involved in the day-to-day operations of the facility and maintenance.
  • Assist with the budget for Physical Plant.
  • Responsible for evaluating the need for training programs to upgrade workers skills, arranging training schedules or conducting training themselves.
  • Work with the staff of other Departments to help identify and resolve plant operations issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills while actively coaching and motivating employees.
  • Assists in project management activities.
  • Manage all major and minor construction and building projects.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all records, documents, inspections and other necessary regulatory and legal documents.
  • Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ability to write reports, and business correspondences. Ability to answer questions, effectively present information and respond to requests.
  • Active participation in the Company's continuous improvement plan.
  • Develop and maintain effective relations with all company employees at various levels of the organization.
  • Able to make appropriate decisions within the Company's organizational structure.
  • Ensure Company resources are utilized in an effective manner to achieve best operating costs.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Food Safety, and housekeeping rules and regulations during the shift and all matters relating to this are handled within the Company's policy and procedures.
    • Maintain standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
    • Anticipate and control hazards within the workplace.
    • Foster open communications with staff regarding safety
    • Facilitate safety culture through encouragement.
  • Provide leadership to the team to continue enhancing, maintaining and be the key to a successful 7-S program.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, general plant maintenance and grounds maintenance.
  • Assign daily work assignments to maintenance team.
  • Maintain all required logbooks and safety information.
  • Schedule coverage of maintenance personnel to provide coverage to all shifts.
  • Employee Training
  • Oversee forklift maintenance, boiler, generator and additional equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and flexible work location when required.
  • Proven experience in a management or similar role with 3+ years of experience is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in truck repair, engine repair, welding, construction management, grounds and property maintenance

  • High School Diploma: degree in technical or relevant field will be an advantage
