Responsibilities
Our newest opportunity is for a talented Chief Resident Engineer - Roads and highways to join our team based in Saudi Arabia.The Senior Resident Engineer (SRE) will be responsible for the overall on-site supervision, management, and technical oversight of roads, highways, and bridge works for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh. The role requires extensive experience in highway and bridge construction, strong leadership capabilities, and in-depth knowledge of international and Saudi standards.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Developing and maintaining professional and meaningful relationships with the project stakeholders to ensure project requirements are being satisfied.
- Overseeing the contractor works on site to ensure project scope is met successfully.
- Managing and coordinating construction phases with all relevant 3rd parties.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and advice to the project teams. Ensuring that the required staff resources are available to complete all scoped services.
- Managing and directing the development and maintenance of the program and project schedules for all phases of the project including planning, design and construction. Identifying and mitigating delays or schedule slippage.
- Providing input into the development and maintenance of the cost and claims management plans including budget and estimate feedback, cash flow curves, value engineering (VE), preparation of bill of quantities as well as supporting the assessment of payment applications, variations and claims.
- Ensuring the physical implementation of Divisional Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with all KEO internal processes and procedures.
- Providing reports (internal and external) in accordance with Project requirements.
- Leading and managing all site supervision activities related to roads, highways, interchanges, and bridge structures.
- Acting as the primary point of contact between the Client, Contractor, and Consultant on site.
- Ensuring construction works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitoring progress against the approved program and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Providing expert technical guidance on pavement design, earthworks, drainage, structures, and bridge construction.
- Reviewing and approve shop drawings, method statements, materials submittals, and construction sequences.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as Saudi MOT / MOMRA, AASHTO, ASTM, and BS/EN codes.
- Resolving complex technical and construction issues on site, including design clarifications and constructability challenges.
Qualifications
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include a minimum of 20 years’ career experience (10 in the GCC) partnered with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Experience gained from working on Roads, bridges & highways in similar role in the GCC is being looked for.
