This position reports into R&D Senior Manager SH&B and is based at Val-de-Reuil, France or Pomezia, Italy.
What will you do
The R&D Deployment Principal Scientist Skin Health & Beauty will deploy, support, and execute global or regional projects aligned with the brand strategies, with demonstrated technical rigor and deep organizational knowledge. This role will deliver strong technical expertise for project execution with human-centered insights and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Project execution
Lead the Deployment of projects with technical expertise and rigor.
Support technical end-to-end R&D functions, during the execution pathway, and support technical problem-solving.
Execute pipeline activities.
Execute technical project work, including scale-up activities and analysis, with hands-on involvement.
Participate in cross-functional project team discussions coordinating deliverables (e.g., R&D, Segment and Supply Chain…) and defining project resources.
Deploy product science consumer-centric visualization in partnership with translational science colleagues
Support routine organizational processes and complexity.
Deploy guidance and solutions to technical problems.
Draft and execute peer-reviewed manuscripts and tech reports.
Provide progress/updates to the cross-functional project team.
Follow standards and ensure the department meets quality, medical, and regulatory requirements.
Deploy all development document E2E for the development product process compliantly.
Technical Understanding
Understand formulation technology and chemical science expertise.
Deploy formulated ingredients to meet cost objectives and manage raw material availability.
Train junior scientists to increase their skills, expertise, and capabilities.
Manage daily site/laboratory operations and schedules. Coordinate with external partners, Chemical Suppliers, Clinical sites, and testing laboratories to support activity. (if applicable)
Monitor equipment operations and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory. (if applicable)
Deploy awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential applications of our brands and products.
Internal/external partnership management
Coordinate day-to-day interaction with global Hubs and external development partnerships (as needed)
Create cross-discipline or department forums to enable the sharing of breakthrough insights and help groups interact and explore adjacent fields, creating opportunities for breakthroughs and creative ideas.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy with minimum 5 years of work experience is required
Desired Qualifications
Experience with formulated products is required.
Cosmetics experience is required.
Excellent technical foundation of formulated, including, emulsions, surfactants, suspensions, and structured liquids, and an understanding of material chemistry and process equipment is required.
Process development/process scale-up experience is required.
Experience working with manufacturing and technical project management is required.
Fluent written and oral English communication skills are required.
