What you will do

Role reports to the one of the Product Owner's in Data Science and Digital Solutions.

We are seeking an Associate Product Owner with 5+ years of overall IT experience to support the delivery of enterprise-wide web-based platforms. This role works closely with the Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, and Engineering teams to ensure product requirements are technically sound, development-ready, and aligned to business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines product mindset, hands-on web application development experience, and strong Agile execution skills, acting as a bridge between product intent and technical implementation.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Product Ownership & Agile Execution: Support the Product Owner in executing the product roadmap for enterprise platforms. Act as a Product Owner for one or more Scrum teams, owning: Sprint backlog, Story readiness and prioritization, Acceptance criteria and Definition of Done. Ensure backlog items are clear, feasible, and technically well-defined before development.

     

  • Requirements & Story Development: Collaborate with the Technical Business Analyst to refine business requirements into well-structured user stories, technical acceptance criteria, edge cases and non-functional requirements. Participate actively in backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure alignment between product intent, technical implementation, and delivered outcomes.

  • Technical & Development Collaboration: Leverage prior hands-on web application development experience to validate technical approaches and estimates, collaborate effectively with engineering on design and implementation decisions, anticipate technical risks, dependencies, and trade-offs. Review technical designs, APIs, and integration approaches for alignment with product goals. Support development teams with day-to-day clarifications during sprint execution.

  • Enterprise Platform & Web Applications: Contribute to the delivery of web-based enterprise applications, including internal portals and dashboards, data-driven user interfaces, search and discovery features. Ensure usability, performance, and scalability considerations are reflected in stories and acceptance criteria. Support integration with backend services, data platforms, and external systems.

  • Testing, Validation & Release Support: Support QA and UAT by clarifying acceptance criteria, validating delivered functionality against stories, assisting with defect triage and prioritization. Participate in release readiness and post-release reviews.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, manage expectations, and ensure alignment with business goals. Interact with business users to gather feedback and identify challenges and opportunities.

  • Success Metrics: Sprint backlogs consistently “ready” and well-defined, Minimal rework due to unclear or incomplete requirements. Smooth sprint execution with reduced dependency friction. Positive feedback from Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders. High-quality, usable features delivered on time

 

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.

·        5+ years of overall IT experience, with experience in Software development, engineering, or technical roles.

·        1+ years of Product Owner, Associate Product Owner, or hybrid product roles.

·        Hands-on experience with web application development (frontend, backend, or full-stack)

·        Exposure to enterprise platforms, internal tools, or data-driven products

·        Familiarity with modern web technologies (e.g., React, Angular, REST APIs)

·        Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery practices

·        Ability to translate business needs into technical user stories

·        Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience in CPG Supply Chain, Operations, or Consumer Products environments

·        Understanding of cloud-based architecture (Azure preferred)

·        Experience working with globally distributed development teams

·        Agile Scrum Product Owner certification
