About this role

The Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical, and communication functions on assigned nursing unit. S/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. She/he provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
Completion of a EKG or Rhythm interpretation course

Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferred

Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Data entry computer skills

Required License/Certification: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association.
ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire
EKG course required. Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam

The hourly rate for this position is $28.01.
