Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Class 1 Truck Driver ensures the safe and efficient transportation of goods between the Knowlton production plant and the Cowansville distribution centre. He actively contributes to the fluidity of logistics operations, the respect of deadlines and the maintenance of a safe work environment, both on the road and in the yard. It is a local shuttle station, in a structured manufacturing environment.
An overview of your everyday life
- Conduct daily inspection rounds of truck, trailers and equipment prior to departures, in accordance with legal and internal requirements.
- Drive the vehicle safely and responsibly, in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
- To provide freight transportation between Knowlton and Cowansville, as well as on other local routes as required.
- Carry out transfers and maneuvers of trailers in the yard according to operational requests (switch).
- Promptly report any anomalies, defects or hazardous situations to the warehouse supervisor.
- Keep the truck and equipment clean and in good working order.
- Properly complete the required documentation (logs, forms, registers).
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient workflows.
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Valid Class 1 driver's license.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Class 1 driver.
- Excellent driving record.
- Bilingualism (French and English) – asset to communicate with certain team members and to understand the technical documentation provided by our clients, mainly in English
- Strong health and safety orientation (OHS is a key value at KDC/One Knowlton).
- Sense of responsibility, reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently in a structured setting.
- Good team player and collaborative attitude.
- Rigor in respecting road safety procedures and rules.
- Good physical condition and ease with court maneuvers.
