The Regional Practice Leader – Survey and Mapping is responsible for leading, growing, and advancing the Survey and Mapping Practice in Florida. This role focuses on expanding market share, developing new clients and services, building high-performing teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex surveying projects.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of experience pursuing, securing, and managing surveying projects.
Demonstrated experience delivering surveying services in Florida; experience in
Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and practice growth.
Must be a licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper in Florida
Strong understanding of surveying standards, regulations, and best practices, including Florida-specific requirements.
Exceptional leadership, written and verbal communication, and relationship-building skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the growth of the Florida Survey practice by maximizing market share and expanding service offerings.
Identify and develop new clients, markets, and surveying opportunities across public and private sectors.
Develop and execute regional business development strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
Gather and apply market intelligence through strong client relationships and industry engagement.
Lead the regional business development effort by:
Providing input to discipline sales goals.
Developing and implementing marketing and client education plans.
Leading major pursuits, proposals, and interviews.
Collaborate with Corporate Leadership and Practice Leaders to secure strategic wins.
Position the firm strategically for Florida-specific markets such as transportation, land development, utilities, and municipal projects.
Supervise and mentor Practice Leaders and Survey Managers within the region.
Build and sustain a high-performance team through coaching, professional development, and accountability.
Recruit, develop, and retain top surveying talent.
Foster a collaborative culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Serve as Principal-in-Charge or Senior Project Manager for significant surveying projects and pursuits.
Maintain executive-level client relationships and act as a trusted advisor.
Represent the firm at industry events, professional organizations, and client meetings throughout Florida.
Education and/or Work Experience Required: • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 10 years of related professional experience, or 14 years of equivalent professional experience.• Typically, 10+ years of progressive professional and increasing project management and organizational management experience in the AEC industry• Proven leadership skills with a track record of successful project management, business management, and team collaboration.• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.• Demonstrated ability to drive business development efforts and achieve growth targets.• Willingness to travel as necessary to support regional initiatives
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred: • Master’s/ MBA preferred.
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registration Required:• Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Training within six months of start date.
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registration Preferred:• Professional license or certification within the field of expertise
