Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- This Construction Inspector position will provide assistance to experienced inspectors.
- Perform construction inspection and reporting of erosion and sediment control, concrete, earthwork, and asphalt pavement.
- Maryland MARTCP Concrete, HMA, Soils and Agg, MOT and MDE Erosion and Sediment Control certifications are a plus.
- Must prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection and testing results.
- Prepare necessary records and measure field quantities, conduct field tests and other tests that may be required to determine contractor’s compliance with contract specifications.
- Driver's license is required as a condition of employment. Day and/or night work required to support the contractor's schedule

Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a construction related field.
- Highschool/GED
- Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Demonstrate basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Possess the ability to read, write, and communicate fluently.
- Work effectively as a team member and complete daily reports by hand and computer.
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass and maintain required certifications.
Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

What you'll do
- The Construction Inspector will assist experienced inspectors and perform construction inspection and reporting on various aspects such as erosion and sediment control, concrete, earthwork, and asphalt pavement. They must prepare detailed reports documenting construction progress and compliance with contract specifications.
