RF Engineer

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides advanced engineering and technology solutions to support critical national security missions. In this role, you will apply a multi-disciplinary approach to validate RF system performance, support integration, and drive innovation in communication subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate technical performance of RF systems; support test and evaluation activities.
  • Analyze RF capabilities for various operations; design and validate RF link performance, quality, and reliability.
  • Perform RF interference analysis and provide recommendations.
  • Deliver systems engineering support for acquisition and development of advanced communication subsystems.
  • Conduct end-to-end trade-off analysis of RF systems.
  • Aid in validation of new waveform specifications.
  • Develop and present technical reports; perform modeling and simulation of RF propagation.

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal
  • Working Hours: Standard

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI++
  • Education: BA/BS and 12+ years of experience; or Master’s and 10+ years (additional 4 years may substitute for degree)
  • Experience developing RF link budgets, performing RF interference analysis, and validating RF system performance
  • Knowledge of communications systems theory
  • Knowledge of NTM systems and capabilities
  • Expertise in communications waveform design concepts, including:
    • Low Probability of Intercept (LPI)/Low Probability of Detection (LPD)
    • Forward error correction
    • Modulation
    • Interference mitigation
Desired:
  • Advanced degree in a related technical field
  • Familiarity with emerging RF technologies and industry standards
