Kaufman Dolowich, recognized by U.S. News in their list of “Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms,” is seeking an Employment Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years of experience. Our West Los Angeles Legal Support Department is comprised of highly skilled and motivated individuals, who are seeking a dynamic self-starter to join their growing team!
Job Responsibilities:
- Works with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions and other case filings
- Utilizes existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases
- Drafts discovery demands and responses, including, but not limited to, Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Notices for Discovery and Inspection and Requests for Admissions
- Prepares trial and arbitration hearing binders, as well as processing deposition transcripts
- Prepares first set of exhibits for motions, discovery responses, timelines, exhibits, etc
- Reviews outgoing document production, including redacting and Bates stamping
- Creates Preservation of Evidence Letter and Document Request Letters
- Performs legal research
- Processes HIPAA authorizations and follow up with providers for medical records
- Reviews, summarize and analyze medical records to assist with defense of action
- Other duties, as needed, to support the firm and office operations

Qualifications:
- Employment Litigation experience
- PAGA experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Industry recognized certification from organizations such as ABA, NALA or AACP
- Experience in using legal database software (NetDocs and West Law preferred)
- Familiarity with legal terminology and principles
- The ability to analyze legal documents, as well as perform legal research, for accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000

Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, as well as the candidate’s experience, skills, and job-related qualifications.
