It’s the entry position in our Engineering Management career path and reports to a Head of Product Engineering.<br>As an Engineering Manager joining our team, you will initially focus on hands-on technical tasks like an individual contributor allowing you to gain a deep understanding of our infrastructure and systems so that you know the code inside and out before adding managerial responsibilities to your plate. This approach enables you to understand the technical challenges your team encounters deeply, setting you and the team up for future wins. </p> <h2 id="aufgaben">Aufgaben</h2> <h2 id="your-tasks--this-is-what-awaits-you-in-detail">Your tasks – this is what awaits you in detail</h2> <ul> <li>You have found your passion in software development, but you enjoy building the right team, removing roadblocks, helping others, creating transparency, and alignment even more than being an individual contributor</li> <li>Based on your experience, you will start by leading the engineers of one product team in a you-build-it-you-run-it environment, with a clear perspective to expand to multiple teams as responsibility and impact grow</li> <li>Depending on team size and setup, you will remain hands-on to a reasonable extent, especially where technical guidance, architectural decisions, code reviews, or complex problem-solving are needed</li> <li>You are going to help our engineers grow personally and professionally - not only by advancing their skills, but also by inspiring them through purpose</li> <li>You make sure that we leverage (new) technology within our product teams to build products customers love and work for the business</li> <li>You are accountable for delivery and reliability of your teams’ products, balancing scope, quality, performance, and operational stability in a high-traffic B2C environment</li> <li>You will contribute to strategic initiatives that are larger than your team(s) like raising the engineering bar, improving our guidelines, and defining how we work as an organization</li> </ul> <h2 id="profil">Profil</h2> <h2 id="your-profile--this-is-what-we-expect-from-you">Your profile – this is what we expect from you</h2> <ul> <li>You have worked in cross-functional product teams and bring a vast experience in engineering of scalable web applications</li> <li>You are an experienced Engineering Manager who approaches technical challenges pragmatically, choosing tools and architectures that fit both the problem domain and the organization.
