RESPONSIBILITIES
The AI Fellow helps shape how artificial intelligence can be used as a force for economic mobility, opportunity creation, and inclusive growth – while actively guarding against the risk of AI exacerbating inequities. Reporting to the Chief Impact and Strategy Officer, this Fellow will advise on a core set of strategic priorities with the flexibility to propose, test, and advance a signature idea or body of work that aligns with the Foundation’s 2035 mission, strategy, and commitment to closing opportunity gaps.
This Fellow will work closely with Foundation leadership and teams to explore how AI can meaningfully strengthen pathways into education, work, and entrepreneurship, particularly for individuals and communities that have historically been excluded from economic mobility. This work will focus on where AI can remove barriers, redesign systems, and unlock new forms of access.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
The AI Fellow will contribute across three interrelated dimensions, with flexibility to emphasize areas most aligned with their expertise and proposed agenda:

Ecosystem, Learning, and Field Building
Internal Collaboration and Enablement
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Computer Science (with a focus on Ethics/Society), Data Science, Sociology, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Work Experience: At least five years of relevant experience in technology strategy, public policy, economic development, or a related field.
Travel: This position may require occasional business travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates in this position must be highly motivated, capable of self-directed work, exceptionally meticulous with a sharp eye for detail, and able to work collaboratively across teams and departments. They must exhibit a keen sense of responsibility and enjoy working with multiple demands, shifting priorities, and constant change.
