Location: Växjö, Nybro, Kalmar, Nässjö, Vetlanda, Oskarshamn, Ljungby, Värnamo

Project overview

Excitingly Kantar Media has partnered with the MMS to build a new Cross-Media Measurement panel in Sweden, that will be one of the first of its kind in the world. We are looking for forward-thinking, diverse, and client-focused individuals to join our team and make this audience measurement panel a success for MMS and Kantar Media.

The Field Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining the TV and Online Device Monitoring equipment and associated softwares in panel households.  The Technician is the representative of the company in panel homes and is therefore expected to be professional, courteous and presentable at all times. He/she also needs to follow Standard Installation and Maintenance Manuals to ensure proper installation and training in panelist home. This is mandatory to collect acurate data from panelist Homes and provide acurate data to media industry. Therefore, the Technician is also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data from the metering equipment in panel homes. 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Installation and maintenance of TV metering equipment into panel homes.  
  • Installation and maintenance of network monitoring devices into panel homes.  
  • Accurate reporting of the actions taken in panel homes, and the meter equipment used. Completion of Installation & Service records. 
  • Removal of television monitoring equipment from homes which wish to leave the panel. 
  • Storage and safe return of TV and Online monitoring equipment in safe conditions when not installed in panel homes. 
  • Resolution or escalation of any problems caused by TV and Online monitoring equipment in panel homes. 
  • Liaison between Kantar Media office staff & panel members as necessary. 
  • Reporting of all Field Technician activity, including appointments, visits made, mileage, equipment inventory etc. 
  • Timely return of all faulty meter equipment, clearly labelled. 
  • Examine returned equipment for condition and prepare for redeployment.  
  • Log SIM card numbers against metering to aid tracking, preventing misuse of the cards. 
  • Liaise with delivery/logistics companies to improve and report on issues such as late deliveries, chase refunds and charges on failed or missed deliveries. 

Required:

  • Technical ability to install & service the TV metering equipment. The meters are non-invasive, meaning that it is not necessary to open TV sets and other devices. A thorough understanding of A/V routing (RGB, Composite video, etc) in domestic environments is essential. Metering equipment installations include all peripheral devices connected to TV and provides audio or video signal to be presented on TV screen.  
  • Computer skills and understanding the data captured from our monitoring device (Focal Meter) and validate the setup of the monitoring devices.  
  • The ability to work without direct supervision to a high standard.  
  • The Field Technician will be responsible for arriving at panel homes at the time agreed, and for performing the tasks required efficiently. Installation visits to newly recruited homes, and periodic service visits to panel homes shall be organised by the central Kantar Media support staff.  
  • Exemplary customer care skills. The Field Technician is the representative of Kantar Media in the panel members’ homes. Meters are installed only with the permission of the panel members, and it is therefore essential that the Field Technician remains professional, prompt & courteous in all dealings with panel members. 
  • Demonstrable experience of A/V systems/installation in domestic environments.  
  • Demonstrable experience Home Router and network devices configuration including routers, VPNs, extenders, and other connected devices 
  • A detailed knowledge of TV and domestic audio video, supplemented possibly with a qualification in electronics servicing. 
  • Basic knowledge of home network setup and configuration 
  • Field Technician need to have driver licence and be willing to drive throughout Sweden
  • Be prepared to make overnight stays away from home if required, so flexibility to work away from home. 
  • Good Swedish and English language skills (written and spoken). 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Advanced knowledge of electronic devices which used to consume video and audio files and streams.  
  • Understanding of home networking, broadband and routers 
  • Problem Solving - Has a proven ability to solve basic problems using sound judgment, in line with Kantar policy and procedure.   
  • Ability to prioritise and complete daily tasks in line with business requirements.
