What a Typical Day Could Look Like

As a Senior Building Engineer, you're not just maintaining a building; you're orchestrating a symphony of systems and leading a team of skilled technicians to ensure that our property operates at peak performance. You're a mentor, a problem-solver, and a guardian of excellence, ensuring that every detail, from the smallest fixture to the grandest amenity, reflects the luxury standards of our community.

• You are the Maintenance Master!
• Oversee every aspect of maintenance and engineering, ensuring that all systems are humming in perfect harmony!
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs that keep our property running smoothly and efficiently!    
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become problems, ensuring a safe and pristine environment for our residents!

You are the Budget Expert!

• Manage the maintenance budget with a keen eye, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings!
• Oversee the procurement of maintenance materials and supplies, ensuring we have the right resources at the right time!    
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors, ensuring that services are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner!

You are the Team Leader!

• Supervise, mentor, and inspire a team of Building Engineers and Assistant Building Engineers, fostering their growth and expertise!
• Delegate tasks effectively and oversee their completion, ensuring that every job is done to the highest standards of quality and efficiency!    
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment where teamwork thrives and everyone feels valued!

Requirements

Key Skills and Abilities Needed to Succeed in This Role:

• 8-9 years of experience in building maintenance and engineering, with a focus on multifamily properties.    
• Advanced knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire safety, and structural components.    
• Relevant certifications (e.g., NFPA 25, EPA 608) are a plus.    
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team of maintenance professionals.    
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.    
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.    
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.    
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and oversee budget and expenses.    
• Valid driver's license with no major infractions in the last 12 months.
