The Global Products Solutions (GPS) Application Support team is looking for an Application Support Analyst in Asia. The GPS Application Support team aims to strategically develop, strengthen and align application support services globally, to deliver a tailored experience for our stakeholders and users covering Advisory, Execution, Sales and Trading.

We are looking for an experienced and engaging individual to lead our support activities in Hong Kong as part of the Application Support Asia team. Reporting to the Head of Application Support Asia in Singapore, you will play a key role in providing best-in-class support to our users across the region and contribute to building a more cohesive and efficient global support team within GPS. In this role, you will engage and collaborate with stakeholders and users at all levels—from business and IT functions—and actively contribute to shaping the evolving global application support strategy.

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of software operational support and possesses strong knowledge of the banking sector, particularly in investment banking or private banking.

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Deliver high-quality first-line and second-line application support for mission-critical systems within the trading, execution, and wealth management domains, with a primary focus on enabling seamless operations for front-office users—including Relationship Managers, Investment Advisors, Assistants, and Team Heads
  • Take end-to-end ownership of incident resolution, ensuring timely and effective handling in alignment with defined SLAs. Conduct thorough root cause analyses (RCA) to identify systemic issues and implement preventive measures that reduce recurrence and enhance system stability
  • Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills by providing clear, proactive communication during critical situations, particularly under pressure, while adhering to global IT support processes and service excellence standards
  • Maintain and continuously improve comprehensive technical and operational documentation, including runbooks, known error databases, and knowledge base articles—ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across the team’s areas of responsibility
  • Support regulatory and management reporting initiatives by contributing accurate, timely data and insights, helping ensure compliance with internal governance requirements and external obligations

YOUR PROFILE

Professional and Technical

  • Relevant higher educational and professional background with 2-5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an Investment Banking/Private Banking domain
  • Experience of providing technology and business support across locations and application
  • Prior knowledge of financial products, trade lifecycle management, order execution and key wealth management operations—including pre-trade suitability checks and the investment advice process—is considered a strong advantage
  • Good understanding of development life cycles such as Agile Methodology
  • Good understanding of database design with confidence to write scripts and complex sql queries is desirable
  • Experience of technology stack used in a typical client server architecture, e.g Java, JavaEE, and web (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc) would be advantages
  • Language Skills: English (oral and written) required; Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) preferred
