POSITION SUMMARY:
Services and performs Apprentice level repairs on furniture in warehouse and customer’s homes to ensure optimal customer satisfaction. Provides quality, professional repairs and set up of merchandise in customer homes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
●Refinishes damaged furniture, brushes or sprays coats of paint, stain, enamel or lacquer, removes finishes, cleans, sands, putties and patches, mixes paints and stains to match existing finish
●Repairs and rebuilds damaged leather or upholstery furniture, removes or replaces material, tacks or sews damaged material, repairs wooden frames
●Repairs or replaces damaged mechanical parts of furniture
●Loads, unloads, and transports tools between stops
●Sets up and operates such tools as power drills, sanders, saws, and their tools required for repair
●Completes repair paperwork and other documentation as required
●Safely drives company van to customer homes to assess and repair damaged furniture
●Performs all duties, including using and maintaining tools/equipment and chemicals, in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards & guidelines.
●Effectively educates and informs customers on repair techniques and/or warranty programs
●Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English Any other function or responsibility as assigned by the Supervisor

EDUCATION:
High School
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
●Must demonstrate the ability to learn and perform repair skills in upholstery, refinishing, leather and mechanisms.
●Must successfully achieve Level I criteria to advance to In Home Service Technician within one year of employment, which is the equivalent of journeyman repair skills in all categories.
●Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
●Ability to interact effectively with difficult customer situations
●Must be able to distinguish between a defect, damage or characteristic of product.
●Ability to successfully educate customers on what is a defect, damage vs. characteristic of product and warranty related information.
●Must have a valid license and maintain a driving record that meets Jordan’s safe driver guidelines.
●Must have a positive and professional demeanor
●Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked vehicle with tools and parts.
●Must maintain a professional appearance at all times
